Exclusive Business Dinner in Amsterdam: Make an Impression in a Historic Venue

A business dinner is often the moment a relationship truly takes shape. You thank a client, seal a partnership or bring partners together. That deserves a setting chosen with as much care as the guest list.

At The Playing Circle, you hostan exclusive business dinner at one of our four historic venues in the centre of Amsterdam. The space is yours for the entire evening, the menu is tailored to your guests and our team makes sure everything is right.

Why host a business dinner in a private venue?

In a busy restaurant, you sit next to other tables, the kitchen sets the pace and a confidential conversation is difficult. In a private venue, none of that is a concern.

•      Undisturbed conversation: no other guests, so there is room for confidential discussions

•      Your pace: the evening follows your programme, with time for a welcome speech or presentation

•      A memorable setting: a theatre dating from 1850 makes more of an impression than a standard restaurant

•      Everything in one place: meet, have drinks and dine at the same venue

How to organise a successful business dinner: 6 tips

1. Define the purpose of the evening

Do you want to thank a client, discuss a deal or connect partners with one another? The purpose shapes the atmosphere, the format and the seating plan.

2. Choose the right format

A seated dinner at one long table works well for in-depth conversations. A walking dinner is a better fit when guests mainly want to network.

3. Choose a venue that suits your guests

For a business dinner, privacy, atmosphere and accessibility matter more than for an ordinary team lunch. A venue in the city centre is easy to reach from the office, the station or a hotel.

4. Ask about dietary requirements in advance

Collect allergies and preferences well ahead of time. That way every guest feels welcome and nothing needs to be improvised at the table.

5. Plan the programme

Decide in advance when there is room for a welcome speech, a short presentation or a toast. Between the starter and the main course often works well.

6. Arrange the logistics

Think about parking, taxis at the end of the evening and clear directions for guests from outside the city.
